A colour explosion

Just started this today in my art group. Another portrait of my son Spencer. He's sat amongst some beautiful highly colourful flowers. This is an A3 in gouache,I may also tinker with some watercolour pencils at some point. I've started very loose so not to be tempted to paint individual flowers yet.
As I've just received another commission I'll have to come back to this. Unfortunately I won't be able to post this commission until after Xmas, but I can tell you it's of a very sweet cat.

I really like this! I think I definitely lean towards Gouache! Lovely colours! I love the look on his face and the way he is disappearing into background. It has a really magical quality about it.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting back to it, I had to put it to one side, but should be back on to it end of the week.

Loving this Sarah, I hope some of the loose washes will be apparent in the final piece - they are very lively.

Its still on the side waiting for my return! I will definitely keep the washes I don't want to get overly involved in details of the flowers. Recently I've been distracted by Xmas, snow, kids hols, but will be back on this soon.
