A gift for Father's Day

My latest commission, a Father's Day gift. A3 pastel on pastelmat, I know his wife loved it hope he does too!

Sjamesportraiture: Bournemouth; My name is Sarah James, I am an artist. I paint in oil paints on canvas, recently I have been experimenting with pastels. I only returned to my art a few years ago, I decided to start a blog to record my progress, and hopefully in time see the improvements in my art. I am a full-time Mum, so have to fit my art in around my two lovely boys. A very long time ago I studied briefly Fine Art, then changed direction and studied the conservation and restoration of paper based objects at college. After this I went back to painting as a hobby, then had my first son, and life was taken over by nappies! Now with my boys at school I have started to paint daily, and I am keen to record my developments as an artist.
